Parent Involvement
Click HERE for Parent Involvement News Hey Parents, Need a Vaughan Buddy? Wanna BE a Vaughan Buddy? We are rolling out a new program for next year to help parents who are new to Vaughan get their questions answered and get connected. This will be an easy and fun way for 'veteran' parents to contribute to our Vaughan community! Making a simple phone call to welcome a new family and being friendly and available for questions takes little effort, but goes a long way. Please contact Lisa Rainey, LRainey04@yahoo.com, to sign up and get more information on how to be a Vaughan Buddy and help new family ease into Vaughan Elementary School! More information will be available at Sneak-a-Peak. GEORGIA PTA PARENT SEMINARS Each program will feature valuable parenting tips, discussions and Q & A September 17, 2008 - "Attention Deficit: Disorders and Discoveries" Learn about ADD traits, diagnosis and treatment options November 19, 2008 - "Model Perfect or Are They?" Learn about the importance of establishing realistic body image versus what is portrayed as perfect and the best ways to help children February 4, 2009 - "Cries, Tries, and Suicide" Learn more about warning signs of depression and suicide All programs are in the conference center at Peachford Hospital, from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM, and are free of charge; no RSVP is necessary. For more information contact Pat Giuliani, Georgia PTA Youth Services Chairperson at Pat.Giuliani@parentcorps.org or Margot Houser, Account Manager, Peachford Hospital at 770-986-1821 or mhouser@houserwalker.com.
